Island takeover
The whole company on one island in the archipelago for two days. Boats in, no other guests, sauna on the rocks, sessions in a boathouse.
How it runs
- Day 1, morningBoat transfer from the mainland. The island is yours.
- Day 1, afternoonSessions in the boathouse, doors open to the sea.
- Day 1, eveningSauna, sea swim, dinner on the rocks.
- Day 2Morning swim, a closing session, boats back by mid-afternoon.
What to know
- Island venues are few, and the best ones book a season ahead.
- Everything arrives by boat, catering included, so the weather plan is set days in advance.
- Capacity is set by beds and boats, not ambition.
Good for
Company-wide offsites for small and mid-size teams.
Not for
Groups over 80, or anyone who needs to leave early.
Questions planners ask
What if the weather turns?
The programme is built so every part has an indoor version, and the boats run in most summer weather. A real storm moves the transfer, not the event.
How do people get there?
By chartered boat from a mainland harbour, usually a short crossing.
Can we have the island to ourselves?
Yes, that's the point. We only use islands that can be booked exclusively.
Thinking of doing this?
Borrow the idea, it's yours. If you'd like a hand, or just a second opinion on whether it suits your group, write to me. I produce ideas like this one at Sorry, No Polar Bears, a Helsinki studio I co-run.
